6 Tips To Kickstart Your Diet

Updated: Feb 18

Greetings and Salutations. You can call me Miss Peaches. I am bringing you along on my weight loss, fitness, and wellness journey. In the year 2024, I decided to pick up where I left off back in the summer of 2023. You are not the first person to fall off a fitness journey. You won't be the last. The important thing is that you are back. Here are six tips I have for you to shed those pounds you picked up.

1. Drink Water. The amount depends on each person. Your activities, your lifestyle, and your intentions change the recommended amount. As a part of my journey, I drink 4-8 16oz bottles of water a day. It is a realistic amount without overwhelming myself. Starting with a bottle of water upon waking up, and one bottle with 3 meals. I try to grab water during

gym time and sometimes in between meals. I'm drinking smoothies with fruit and vegetables in them and eating food with high water content as well. I buy my drinking water as opposed to getting it from the sink or water fountains. Though I buy Poland Spring for my household, I also drink Voss or Evian water. I find that the quality is much better than most bottled water.

2. Add Lemon or Vinegar to my water. Not every single time but, at least one time per day. Adding lemon or vinegar will suppress your appetite and burn calories. Both vinegar and lemon aid in digestion, and are antioxidants.

3. I Have Reduced The Amount of Pasta, Rice, and Starchy Vegetables I Eat. Removing starch completely is impossible. Starch is in a lot of fruit and vegetables. This includes but is not limited to apples, pears, berries, and bananas. The list goes on and on. By choice, I eat processed pasta, rice, and starchy veggies but, occasionally, rarely, and sparingly.

4. No added sugar. If a product has sugar in it already, I may drink or eat it occasionally. Once you reduce your sugar intake. Your preference for sweets will change. Certain things will begin to be too sweet for you. Once you've become consistent, you will notice the difference.

5. Intermittent Fasting. Intermittent fasting is simply not eating during a scheduled time. There are many benefits to intermittent fasting. I do it to allow my food to completely digest, give my digestive system daily rest,

and promote fat burning. My eating period starts between 6 am and 9 am. My last meal of the day is scheduled for 6:30 pm. I don't go past 7 pm.

6. Eat every 3 hours.

During the time I'm not fasting. I space my meals out to 3 hours apart. I do this to help speed up my metabolism. After doing this consistently, your body will not hold on to food because it is expecting the next meal.

These are easy tips to follow. It takes the complication out of getting back on the ball. What do you think? Do you think it's too much? Do you agree with the tips I listed? Feel free to leave a comment and share.
